Father Gregory Ramkissoon founded the Mustard
Seed Communities in 1978 in Kingston Jamaica as
a community focused on the care of disabled
children. Since then, other Mustard Seed
Communities have been built throughout the
Caribbean and more recently in Africa,
Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Zimbabwe.
In August of 2010, Father Ramkissoon was awarded
one of Jamaica's highest Awards, that of the
Order of Jamaica, which is presented in October,
on Jamaica's National Heroes Day.

The UWI Fund is an institutionally-related
Foundation and provides support for the
University of the West Indies at Mona, Jamaica.
It funds scholarships to the University as well
